There should be a rule....

.... that every single Christian musician that writes their own songs should go to at least a year of Bible school. Then their lyrics would be possibly more scripturally based and sound. Which in turn would make their songs all the more deeper. Well, there could be exceptions to the rule for the diligent private students of the Bible. But I have noticed this in the wide variety of music that I listen to. Some are just soooooo deep and so scriptural (from rap to metal to accoustic... doesn't matter) Others are so "fluffy". No good meat to sink your teeth in to. Then you look at the background of the artist. It explains it all.

Music is a powerful medium. Use it wisely and productively please :-) Are you doing this for your glory or God's glory???

Continuation

So I posted that blog last night. Then I started reading more scripture after that Jeremiah one came into my mind. I wrote an email to a friend. Here is what I said....
I was reading when I was sitting in the kitchen since that is where I left my Bible this morning. So I was reading something... then I was reading something else which lead me to Isaiah 45 (continuing reference scripture lists suck me in for ever... it's a never ending chain somedays). Anyways... vs. 2.. there is the bronze and iron again.
Vs.5- "I have strengthened you though you have not acknowledged ME" WOW... that reminds me of what I just wrote in my blog tonight. Which in that I used Jeremiah 29:11 which is the first in the chain that lead me to this chapter. Here is what I wrote...

"In retrospect......... (see yesterday's blog)"

Anyways.... then vs 6. Talking about the sun rising and setting. I still think there is something to where it rises and where it sets... as far as directionally.
Then vs 7... "I bring prosperity and create disaster". That made me think of what you were saying a couple of months ago about forces of nature and that being God touching the earth. That just blows a person away to think about. But also then for our wimpy human minds to wrap itself around the fact He does this... yet somehow we aren't all just mindless pawns in all of this. Otherwise what would be the point of ever praying??
Then vs 9 He lays it on the line and tells us to sit down, shut up and trust Him. Yet... Jude 1:20, III John 1:2, I Peter 4:7-8, James 5:13-19, Hebrews 13:18-19, I Thes 5:16-18, Romans 12:11-13, John 17:20-21 and Luke 22:45-46.... and that barely scratches the surface in the New Testiment. Try 365 (in the NIV--- 362 in the NASB) references total to pray, prayer etc. Yeah... explain that one in laymans terms right after you explain the Trinity to someone.
Ok.. there is like a ton more in this chapter but I have to go get ready for bed now. Oh and vs 23-24 are like one of the well known ones too... also interesting to really mentally digest.
-------------------------------------------------
The Bible is so cool. there is soooooo much in there that you can never digest it all in a lifetime. How many other books could you say that about???!!!

In retrospect....

You ever deeply ponder life and look at how you got to the point you are at?? If this is where I'm at by 25 what will I be in another 25 years?? This could be interesting. I also think God gets great joy out of observing all of the idiosyncrasies in life. He has the ultimate "Reality TV" subscription. I wonder if He sits there wondering if we will ever look back and realize the grand scale of something we endured in life?? Like "Come on... get a clue... don't you see what really just happened?". When we get it (if he was watching us on His DishNetwork) He would probably lean back in the sofa, get a big 'ol grin on His face and grab another handful of popcorn, slowly nodding his head up and down.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."-Jeremiah 29:11-

So how much more am I still oblivious to..........

ACL

My poor puppy was chasing a stray cat on Thursday. All of a sudden he yelped and came up lame. I took him in to work the next day. The Dr. confirmed my fears. He tore his ACL. So he had surgery today. Now he needs cage rest for 3 weeks. He's going to hate me
