Kids

It's funny. I used to not be able to stand kids. I would practically run at the sight of the little creatures. Now, I work with kids by volunteering at youth group (and love it). I also am coming up to my one year anniversary of having my Little Brother through the Big Brothers/ Big Sisters mentoring program (and love it).

I had a chance to spend time with my Little tonight. Before we came to my place we took a trip to Fleet Farm. There he became the proud owner of his first rubber boots. I am continually taking him home wet or muddy so I thought that was the least I could do for his mother. He is 8 and has never had a pair so he was completely intrigued by them.

When we got back to my place he helped me with my annual spring cleaning of my decorative pond. All of the water need to be bailed out, lining needed to be scrubbed and finally refilled with clean water. He stood in the water completely in awe of the fact that his socks were staying dry. Being a kid he was helping some and playing some. Towards of the cleaning process he stopped all of a sudden with a serious look on his face. He looks at me and tells me that there is something in his boot. So I have him take it off and hand it over for me to dump out. A small pebble drops out onto the ground. He puts his boot back on with a look that is gradually getting more serious and contemplative. He begins to speak, "So I know these are made out of rubber or something, so that is how the water stays out. But how do rocks get in?" Ah, the innocence of kids :-) I explained that when he was crawling on his knees that a rock must have flipped into the top of his boot. Then internally I rolled in laughter.

How must our Heavenly Father's heart ache as He watches millions of people turn their backs on Him. I can't imagine. Watching those u know do it is hard enough.

Dad thinks I have worked with animals too long. When the lady at Fleet Farm asked what tire had the screw in, I told her 'the left hind' tire. LOL

No Greater Love

I have been contemplating the vastness of life the past several days. Then had an unforeseen opportunity to reflect on my life last night. I'm so in love with Jesus Christ and thankful for what He has done in my life. I'm also thankful for my Christian family that He has given me. I love you guys :-) Stay strong... be a Light for Him in the world so that others may discover His Perfect Love.
