Pet food recall- Let me know when it's over... I'll go back to work then
http://www.menufoods.com/recall/
We had a 3 year old cat come in a week and a half ago with renal failure from unknown origin. Fortunately we saved it but it was hospitalized for over a week. Then the owner called on Monday... they had been feeding the cat the gavy and bites food out of a pouch. Which actually when the cat was getting alittle better and we were trying to get it to eat... they brought some of it in to see if she would eat it. So I have seen some of that food.
I'm soooooooooooo glad that I'm not a receptionist though. Those poor souls have had countless calls each day. This afternoon we had a dog on the schedule. It was coming in because it wasn't doing well and had eaten some of the recalled food.
I went on some of my Veterinary Technician message boards tonight. It's all the buzz and there are countless posts with techs reporting their hospitalized patients. It seems that cats are being affected by this more than dogs. Which is interesting because on the schedule... the afore mentioned dog was coming in because it had eaten some of the recalled cat food.
Fortunately now us medical professionals are aware of the cause of this strange outbreak of renal failure and can act accordingly. It is just the gravy with chunks/bites food as listed on the website I mentioned earlier. If you suspect that your animal has eaten the recalled food and is showing signs of renal failure (one or more)... poor appetite, weight loss, dehydration, lethargy, depression, an increased thirst along with increased volumes of urine being produced, a poor coat, vomiting, bad-smelling breath, ulceration in the mouth and weakness.... call your veterinarian!!!
Ok.... I'm going to go do something else now. I don't want to have to think about this until I'm paid to do so at work..........

Double standard in "hate speech"
SANTA ROSA, Calif. - When a few classmates razzed Rebekah Rice about her Mormon upbringing with questions such as, "Do you have 10 moms?" she shot back: "That's so gay."
Now there is a lawsuit pending. Not because the Mormon was picked on and stereo-typed. But because some classmates were told "That's so gay" in response to their insult. Now it's religion being assulted, not Christianity. But still. It's interesting to see how the power is switching in our country..... and it's sad.

Cool shirts
"Step Up! I am a servant first and last. God has changed me from the inside out and today I am making it real. I will abandon my apathy and serve with all my heart and soul because I serve the King of Kings. Talk is not enough. It's show time. I will toil. I will sweat. I will care. I will view others with the eyes of Christ. How 'bout you? Got the nerve? The nerve to serve? Step Up!."
"Be a Revolution. It's time for a change. I will no longer be gripped by the world's warped mindset. I have been transformed by Jesus Christ & my thoughts and actions are subject to a higher standard. I can't change the past but I can make a difference today. In God's power I will be a revolution."

"Ostensibly Unpremeditated"
My buddies and I finished it on Sunday. The recipient was thrilled.
The outer verses that we chose were:
Psalm 139:16 -Romans 8:28 -Ephesians 2:10 -Philippians 1:6
I discovered a creative side I didn't know was there. The picture that I have posted really doesn't give the scope of the piece.
The large letters spell RANDOM. Though they are all within names of God or Christ. The letters are made out of Rocks, the Alpha/Omega sign, Grape Vines, a Door, a miniature Bible and real Lamb's hide. The piece is surrounded by those verses denoting God's hand on everything. So it appearsrandombut it really isn't. The center lines are 'random' colors. Though really they are the colors of the rainbow (minus indigo). That represents God's first convenant with man.
Ostensibly = plausible rather than demonstrably true or real -to all outward appearances -
Unpremeditated = made or done without previous thought or preparation
So the piece represents the fact that us humans look at life as just happening but miss the fact that God has his hand on it all.

Question for everyone
For a project that I'm working on with some friends... we are looking for 4 Bible verses that best describe life as NOT being random. But rather God knows what's going on and we are in His plan. I have 8 verses listed below. Can you please let me know what 4 speak to you the most. Thanks!!!
Psalm 139:16
Your eyes have seen my unformed substance;
And in Your book were all written
The days that were ordained for me,
When as yet there was not one of them.
Ecclesiastes 3:1
There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven--
Isaiah 64:8
But now, O LORD, You are our Father,
We are the clay, and You our potter;
And all of us are the work of Your hand.
Jeremiah 29:11
'For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.
Romans 8:28And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
Ephesians 2:10For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
Philippians 1:6For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.
1 Peter 2:9
But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God's OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
